Terms of Use

 

WILD FOOD WALKS, COURSES AND WORKSHOPS

These are subject to minimum group sizes so in the unlikely event of having too few people, I reserve the right to cancel the walk, workshop or course.  Should an event be cancelled by me, I will of course refund to you your booking fee in full and inform you of the cancellation as soon as possible.

Food and dietary requirements:

All food cooked for the walks is vegetarian and gluten free. I am also quite happy to cater for other dietary requirements. Please make sure you let me know about them before the walk!

 

Wild Food Walk & Workshop Cancellations:

The booking fees are non-refundable. You may be able to transfer your booking to another date should you need to do so provided you cancel at least 3 weeks before the scheduled date if it’s a walk or 1 month for workshops.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are valid on any walk within 12 months of when they are purchased. To book onto a specific walk, simply email me and let me know which date you have chosen and I will add you to the list. Similar cancellation rules apply to those of the walks. Should you cancel your booking after saying you will attend on a particular date, you will lose £5 out of the value of your voucher if you cancel less than three weeks before the walk. If you cancel more than 3 weeks before the walk, you can simply pick a new date to move your booking to. You are only allowed to rearrange your booking for free like this once. Under exceptional circumstances I am able to be flexible so do stay in touch.

Gift Vouchers are non-refundable.

 

ONLINE SHOP

The P+P costs are shown in the table at the bottom of this page and apply to postage within the UK only. Customers from outside the UK should place all their items in the shopping basket, select “Cash” payment on checkout and write which country they are ordering from in the “Additional Information” box. I will then send you a separate invoice via Paypal with the correct postage costs once I have packed the items and taken them to the post office to be weighed.

Should your postage costs come up to more than £10, provided your parcel doesn’t weigh more than 2kg, I will be able to ship it for £10. This does not apply to items in class D (which weigh approximately 400g per item) or E (The small gift packs). This is because they weigh so much and require substantially more packaging materials. Should your order qualify for the £10 shipping rate, I will issue you with a partial refund for the difference in P+P.

Large hampers are cash on collection only. Please tick the “Cash” option when checking out. I can deliver large baskets within a 6 mile radius of Moortown Corner in Leeds for an additional £3.

Collection in person is possible should you wish to avoid paying for P+P. Should you wish to use this option, you will need to pay me cash on collection so please do not pay me via Paypal and instead, select the ‘Cash” option when checking out.

Should you wish to pay via Cheque, select the “Cheque” option when checking out and I will email you the relevant details. Your order will be posted to you as soon as your cheque has cleared.

Free Postage applies to all orders over £150.

 

Refunds:

Should you change your mind after receiving your goods, you will receive a refund for your original purchase costs (excluding all P+P charges, including those to get the items back to me) once I have received the goods and confirmed that they are in resalable condition. I will not refund the costs of any damaged items. You will also be charged a restocking fee of 15%. I’m really sorry if this sounds a bit harsh but I am a tiny business and am juggling two careers. Preparing orders for shipping then getting them to the post office takes a lot of time so when people change their mind, this causes me great inconvenience. If you’re not 100% sure you would like to keep the items, why not just email me and I can arrange a time for you to come to my house and see the items in person and you can just buy what you like. Much easier all round!

Faulty items:

Should items arrive to you in a faulty condition (e.g. if a bottle smashed on the way to you), please email me detailed photographs of the damage and I will get a replacement out to you in the post as soon as I can.

Should a product interact badly with your skin (very rarely this does happen, although I have had people with quite extreme psoriasis, perfume allergies, etc use them to date with no ill effects), please discontinue use immediately and send me an email. I would not be able to offer you a refund but I’m happy to work with you to develop a product that will be more suitable for your skin type as well as offer advice.

Also, do remember that most of the products I sell are temperature sensitive. Soaps will ‘sweat’ if they are moved from a freezing cold room to your airing cupboard, solid perfumes will melt if you leave them on top of your radiator. This doesn’t make them any less useable. Just pop the melted item into the fridge for a few minutes or keep your soap in a relatively stable temperature and nothing should go wrong. Promise. 

Product Variations

Given that all of my products are hand made in small batches, the item you receive may be slightly different in appearance to the photo in the website. For example, a layered soap may have a layer that is slightly wider than in the photo or the sides may look slightly straighter. I do my very best to create homogenous products but even where they look a little bit different, the ingredients and the way they work are exactly the same.

Vegan Products

If you are a vegan and would like vegan-friendly alternatives for any of my products, just get in touch and I will see what I can do for you.

Product Safety and Use

All of my products are only tested on people. While I have not as yet had any friends or family who have tried them have any side effects, this is of course theoretically possible (if people can be allergic to water…anything is possible!). Therefore as with all new products used on your skin, do try a little bit first and see how your body reacts. In the unlikely event of you having an adverse reaction, discontinue use immediately.

Please be advised that most of my products contain essential oils. For pregnant or breast-feeding women, the use of essential oils is not advised due to their potency. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and would like to buy one of my products that contains essential oils, please do get in touch and I will make you bump and baby-friendly alternatives wherever possible.

International Orders:

Orders from outside the UK are very welcome. As postage rates vary, please select the ‘Pay by Cash’ option at checkout. Once I have had your item weighed, I will send you a PayPal invoice with your final P+P cost. As a guide, posting a parcel of up to 2kg to the US and Canada costs £37 and to Mainland Europe costs £28.

Postage Costs:

Class A = Natural Skincare Products – £3.25 for first item and 20p for each additional item

Class B = All Jars of Preserves and Bottles of Cordial/ Vinegar – £3.25 for first item and 40p for each additional item

Class C = Small gift packs – £4.50 for first item and £3 for each additional item

Class F = Free shipping for orders over £150

Postage and packing promise:

While I have tried to be as fair as possible when it comes to P+P costs, your orders are handled automatically by my eshop system and sometimes it just doesn’t work out right. If your actual P+P charges turn out to be significantly less than what you paid via Paypal, I will refund the difference back to you via PayPal. Promise.
