Nothing says Christmas quite like German biscuits. But when you can't have gluten, you miss out on some of the yummiest treats of the season. So why not come and learn how to make your own? Dipped biscuits, rolled biscuits, biscuits drizzled with melted chocolate and smelling of heavenly spices. We will be making 4 different recipes under the expert tutelage of my friend Dani (some of which are shown in the photo above) who has been making these since she was a child growing up in Germany and now continues the tradition with her own family every Christmas.
You will each have your own workstation which will be shared with a maximum of 2 other people. Each workstation will have its own set of equipment from stand mixers to rolling pins and cutters so you will all get a chance to get your hands dirty and play. This is a fully immersive workshop so we will be working hard to make sure you get as much time as possible to experiment. This workshop is suitable for people who cannot have dairy but is not suitable for those allergic to hazelnuts, almonds or coconut.
The workshop will start at 10am and end at 1pm and be priced on a sliding scale from £45 - £65 per person including all materials and ingredients and plenty of biscuits for you to take home. To book your place, go to the event page: http://www.wildcraftbakery.com/courses-1/christmas-biscuit-workshop
We will also be having a Sunday shopping event when the bakery will be open for you to come in, buy bread and cakes, have some delicious soup and sample the wonderful biscuits baked in the workshop. You will also be able to buy a fantastic selection of Kenyan handicrafts including hand woven baskets, beautiful beaded Maasai jewellery and ornaments, stock up from my foraged "Pick 'n' Mix" selection of preserved wild herbs, teas, ferments and dried wild mushrooms, buy rapeseed oil pressed in the bakery and gift vouchers to put against any course run at the Wildcraft Bakery.
Shoppers are welcome from 12 - 4pm.
