When you can't have gluten, you resign yourself to the fact that you just can't get decent breakfast foods anymore. Think again! This workshop is all about my favourite breakfast and brunch treats. Each participant will get to take home everything they make on the day (that they manage to resist eating before they've left) as well as copies of all the recipes used.

At the end of the day you will have learned how to make: Drop Scones, Polenta 2 ways, Yeasted Cinnamon Rolls and Ebelskivers.

Cinnamon Rolls

Yes, you read that right! Ooey gooey yeasted cinnamon rolls smothered in cream cheese icing will be on your brunch menu again after this class. Your tastebuds will thank you!

Ebelskivers

I LOVE ebelskivers. Most people have never even heardof these delectable treats let alone tried them. But once you do, you'll never know how you lived without them! They're a spherical danish pancake that's cooked in a special pan and that you can stuff with everything from cubes of cheese to chocolate chips when you're cooking them for an extra treat. It also doesn't hurt that they're ridiculously fun to make! We even have an ebelskiver dance in my house because they're just that good!

Drop scones

A bit like American-style pancakes, drop scones are a delicious little fluffy pancake that tastes amazing smothered in honey.

Polenta 2 ways

This is one of my go to breakfast options. Incredibly healthy, equally delicious had salty or savoury.

 

Accompaniments

No brunch is complete without yummy things to smother your ebelskivers/pancakes/polenta in. So you will also learn how to make a delicious fruit sauce, a dark chocolate sauce, Swahili style sauteed mushrooms, activated nuts and magnolia petal poached plums.

Cost & Timings:

This workshop will begin at 10am and end at 4pm. Your ticket price includes all the ingredients and materials you will use as well as lunch and refreshments through the day. Please bring with you a notepad and pen to take notes. You will be provided with a foil tray to make your cinnamon rolls in. Should you wish, you may bring a small pyrex dish with you from home to bake them in and you can then take them home easily after.

– Income £16-30,000: £120
– Income less than £16,000: £90
– Concessionary rate: Pay As you Feel (unemployed, full-time students over 16, OAPs, people in receipt of the following benefits DLA, Tax credits, JSA, Housing Benefit – limited to 2 per class, on a first-come-first-served basis)

We want to ensure that our classes are accessible to a diverse range of people and recognise that one person’s financial situation will differ from another. So that money is less of a barrier to participating, we offer a tiered pricing structure and ask that you select the price appropriate for your personal circumstances.

Attending with children:

If you would like to attend but have a child, it may be possible for us to pay someone to look after them on site while you do your class. Please be aware that this is likely to cost around £40-£50 per day. If several people with children wish to attend, then this cost can be split between you. The room that is currently the office in the unit is going to be converted into a play space so my toddler can accompany me to work every day so the facilities will be there for anyone who wishes to use them. Please email me if you would like to bring a child/children along and tell me their ages.
